My name is Melanie Heaney, and I am a photographer focusing on sports action and portraits.
I primarily photograph figure skating, and I have been involved in the sport for over two decades as a photographer and journalist. Whether my subject is a tot on skates for the first time, a young skater working through test levels, or an Olympic-level athlete, I am passionate about capturing the sport at its best. I love creating images that make an athlete proud of the time that they have spent perfecting their craft. My background in the sport helps me to capture and select the most impactful moments for publication.
